What is Maxwell DISC Assessment?
At Maxwell Leadership, we utilize The Maxwell DISC Method, which is based on the DiSC profile. DiSC is a personality assessment centered on workplace interactions, categorizing individuals into one of four color-coded categories: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue.
In the Maxwell DISC Method, each of the four color-coded categories represents a different communication style. Green stands for Dominance (D), which is characterized by confidence and a focus on achieving results. Red symbolizes Influence (I), reflecting openness and a focus on relationships and persuasion. Blue signifies Steadiness (S), showcasing dependability and an emphasis on cooperation and sincerity. Yellow denotes Conscientiousness (C), highlighting a focus on quality, accuracy, expertise, and competency.

The Maxwell DISC Method is not about pigeonholing individuals into stereotypes, but about establishing a common language within your team. It’s about gaining a deeper understanding of your own communication style, so you can adapt your behavior to connect more effectively with others. This approach not only strengthens relationships but also fosters better leadership by recognizing and respecting others’ communication needs and priorities.
How is it different from other assessments?
The Maxwell DISC Assessment stands out from others due to its emphasis on practical application and leadership development within the context of workplace dynamics. Unlike some assessments focusing solely on personality traits, the Maxwell DISC Assessment is specifically tailored to help individuals understand and improve their communication styles, interpersonal interactions, and leadership effectiveness. It provides actionable insights and strategies for building stronger teams, resolving conflicts, and enhancing overall organizational performance. Additionally, the Maxwell DISC Assessment is integrated into the broader leadership framework developed by John C. Maxwell, adding depth and relevance to its application in leadership development programs.
